I use Zonealarm and it has not been listed here. I personally feel, Zonealarm is the best when compared to the above programs. I have been using it for a long time and the system had never been infected a single time in the last so many years.

Yes, it does matter whether you are using it for PC or Mac. Some antivirus are for both, while others are for either PC or Mac. They have different set up files for using it on Mac or PC's .

I don't like any antivirus because it slows down the system. I have been using Deepfreeze, which is not a security tool anymore, rather it freezes the drive-C or whatever you like at one configuration. i.e. If suppose thousand viruses you induce via USB, so all will be removed at a single restart/reboot in it in frozen state. That's it!

I'm a single father without any other family and my children rely only on me. I need a first class antivirus to protect my income.
if using windows, correctly, you don't need ANY antivirals- let me explain. not only does windows have built in complete firewalls, but it is almost a slap in the face to learn that all additional software does, is configure those SAME settings for you. also, since you can have unlimited sub-users, you are safest by ONLY using your admin ID to install legitimate, clean software that is system-wide, and never even take it online. use a sub-acct for all internet or other suspect activities, and never allow admin-options to it, especially not as a default. now, if you begin to even suspect you're having viral/malware/spyware issues, all you do is delete that sub-acct and use a new one. simple, thorough, and fool-proof.
If you are PC user you should be using Kaspersky Security, It got a build in keyboard and works really well for Windows it have a 2 firewall and help you with online banking and buying stuff online and sign into program without worry about being hack! because that what the build in keyboard from Kaspersky is for alright! If you like try out for 30 says see if you love it and maybe you love to buy it.

I have tried most of them but I don't understand why nobody ever puts in their top 10 Unthreat Antivirus Free.. I have been using it for a year and a half so far and no viruses or crashes on my pc ever. nor it slowed it down.

I think my personal favorite is Avast free antivirus 8. I have it for free for i year 🙂 there is no other decent antivirus that is available free for straight one year ! I have been using it for the last 3 years and very happy with it. earlier i used to have Kaspersky paid version on my system, but it made my system very heavy. Now, Avast delivers better services than that, and even that with free addition.
Also, as per the Antivirus market share, Avast is on top of the chart, just after Microsoft Security Essentials. That confirmed that my choice was right, and i never looked back since then 🙂
